About us
Discover how we design and deliver next-generation of renewable energy leaders.

We design and build a wind turbine, plan a full wind energy project, and bring renewable energy education to K-12 classrooms. Engineering is one of several majors on the team, not the whole team.

Our Mission
Sun Devil Wind designs, builds and tests small-scale wind turbines, develops wind energy project proposals, and brings clean energy education to schools and to the ASU community. We represent Arizona State University in the Clean Energy Workforce Competition.
The point is real work. A turbine that has to run in a wind tunnel in front of judges, and an energy project that has to survive questioning from people who finance them for a living
Our vision
Members should arrive without having built anything and leave able to design a system, test it, and defend the decisions behind it to people who do this for a living. That curve is steep on purpose. It is the reason to be here rather than in a lecture.
And the work should reach past our own membership. Hands-on renewable energy sessions in K-12 classrooms put wind in front of students who had not considered it, and each yearโs members teach the ones who come after them. A club that produced only a good turbine would have missed the point.
