Outreach and engagement
Hands-on renewable energy sessions for K-12 students and the ASU community, plus the industry engagement the competition requires.

Introduction
Outreach is not a side activity bolted onto the competition. Stakeholder engagement is scored inside the project development contest, and teaching renewable energy in K-12 classrooms is work we would want to do anyway.
Nothing has run yet. This page will carry what we actually did, with the schools we actually visited and the number of students we actually reached, once those numbers exist.
What This Covers:
Two audiences. K-12 students, through hands-on sessions built around how a wind turbine actually works. And the wind industry, through engagement that tests our project assumptions against people who do this for a living.
Why It Is Scored:
The project development contest asks what stakeholder input changed about the project. An engagement that influenced nothing scores nothing, so the record of what we asked, what we heard and what we changed is the real deliverable.
